Fluorocarbon is awesome for fishing a deep jigging spoon or even deep tubes for smallmouth fishing. It's virtually invisible underwater and has a very low stretch and very high strength.

If you want a line with a very small diameter for finesse fishing or deep cranking where you want to get those plugs to dive down there real deep. Silver Thread AN40 is my choice. It is very popular because if its small diameter.

Let's say you want something that's very strong, very abrasion resistant, but maybe you do want a little more stretch than say fluorocarbon, Silver Thread Excalibur is great for flipping and pitching.
