You don't want to spend all day On a baitcast reel it's a little different, what I like to do on a baitcast reel is spool it so the line comes from the top of the spool, put a little bit of tension on and again, spool it to where it's about a quarter of an inch full from the spool. Stick a pen, pencil or screwdriver through the hole in the center of the spool and have your parter hold it.  These tips will help eliminate a bad day of dealing with backlashes and line twists. pulling out backlashes and dealing with line twists. It's real important to know the difference of spooling a baitcast reel versus a spinning reel. On a spinning reel, lay the spool down, label up. Put a little tension on your line and spool it all the way until it's about a quarter inch from the end of the spool.
